Meet Our Regional Board
Lexie Korkis, President
Lexie is a junior at Culver City High School. She enjoys playing softball on her school's team, snowboarding and being on her schools student class council. In addition, she has attended Camp Akiba for 8 years. She is so excited and can't wait to have an amazing year!
Sammy Buch, Programming Vice President
Sammy is a Senior at Claremont High School. He loves the outdoors and finds joy in going on hikes and mountain biking. He has been in NFTY since his 8th grade Spring Kallah and has gone to URJ Camp Newman for 8 years. In his free time Sammy plays guitar and takes his dog on walks.
Kara Kolb is a Senior and goes to Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga. When not at NFTY events, she can be found swimming, practicing sign language with her friends, or thrifting all across town. Kara is very bubbly and loves meeting new people so if you ever need a smile she’s always there. Kara is a crazy insomniac and is up all hours of the night so if you ever need her she is awake. She has a deep passion for social action and making a lasting change in our world. Kara cannot wait for the year to come and looks forward to making our world a better place with you!
Allen Schultz, Religious and Cultural Vice President
Sasha Winett, Membership Vice President
Sasha Winett is a Junior from LA and attends at Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (fear the horn)! When Sasha isn’t doing something NFTY related you can find her rollerskating, crafting, or taking on a new art project before she's finished with the hundreds she's already started. You will never find Sasha in an outfit uncoordinated with her wacky earrings and she is sure to have a smile put on her face when presented with a ring pop. She is so excited to meet so many new people this year and cannot wait to serve as NFTY SOCAL’s MVP.
Olivia Lerer, Financial Vice President
Olivia Lerer is a senior at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach. She enjoys playing tennis, hanging out with friends, relaxing at the beach, and basking in the SoCal weather. Olivia is super outgoing, optimistic, and is able to become best friends with anyone she talks to. She is currently learning how to play the piano and is enjoying expressing herself through music. Olivia enjoys many forms of art and is so excited to see NFTYites repping it on their clothes. She is so excited to meet and see all of you!
Emily Gross, Communications Vice President
Emily Gross is a senior from West Los Angeles. When not at NFTY, she is practicing for her dance team, volunteering at Teen Line, helping out at her temple, or spending time with her family and friends (most of which are NFTY friends). In addition, Emily has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys snowboarding and hiking. Emily has attended Camp Alonim every summer since 2013 and it has taught her the importance of a Jewish community. Emily is beyond excited and proud to be a part of the NFTY community and looks forward to capturing your memories in her last year as a NFTY-ite serving as your CVP!
NFTY Southern California is governed by a board of teen leaders who are elected by their peers that serve a one-year term. Regional board members play a critical role in all aspects of running the region including event planning and marketing, and mentoring teen leaders from our local youth communities. The regional board is mentored by a Senior Regional Director of Youth Engagement or Regional Advisor who oversees all programs and administration.
