NFTY CWR & NFTY SOCAL Present Winter Kallah 2019 

Friday, January 18 - Monday, January 21, 2019

NFTY SOCAL & NFTY CWR are excited to present Winter Kallah. Join us as we bring together NFTY CA, for the first time, in celebration of the power of community. The weekend will be filled to brim with NFTY fun! Winter Kallah will be held at Camp Ramah in Southern California!

What can my teen expect from the weekend? 

Teens from NFTY SOCAL & NFTY CWR can expect a traditional weekend of NFTY fun, beginning with Friday night programming and Shabbat services. Friday night programming will be hosted in collaboration with the NFTY SOCAL & NFTY CWR regional boards, along with teen leaders from both regions. Sunday will be a full day of NFTY programming, including our Winter Kallah Maccabi Games, and ending in a “BIG FUN” experience. Teens will depart from Camp Ramah on Monday morning, following closing circle.

Registration Opens December 9th at 8pm!

Early Bird: $325
Register by December 30

Late Registration: $375
Register by January 6

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12.


  • Registration is hosted by URJ Camp Newman. If you have attended a previous NFTY event or summer program at Camp Newman, you already have an account in our system.
  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and we cannot prorate registration.
  • A limited number of scholarship discounts are available for this event.

Travel Information

Bus transportation is provided from various locations in the Southern California region. These times are tentative, updated bus stops, and times will be shared as soon as possible. Buses must have 12 or more participants to run.

Participants may not drive themselves to or from the event or NFTY provided transportation. If traveling by car, the driver must be a parent or guardian over the age of 21.

If you are flying to the event, please plan to arrive and depart from Burbank Bob Hope Airport:

  • Friday Arrival between 11am-2pm (1/18)
    • All flights must land by 2pm
    • Bus departs Airport at 2:30
  • Monday Departure (1/21) : All flights depart after 1:30pm

When teens arrive to the Burbank airport, they will be met by NFTY staff, who will stay onsite with teens until they depart on the bus. Contact information for staff at the airport, will be shared prior to the event.  

Discounts & Scholarships

NFTY recognizes that our participants may need to cancel after registering for an event. We have created a policy for refunds that considers our financial obligations for the event and our desire to refund as much of the registration fees paid as possible. All cancellations must be sent to the NFTY SOCAL staff via email by one of the Parent/Guardians listed during registration. We will not accept cancellations from TYG advisors or participants directly. Refunds are sent approximately six weeks after the conclusion of the event.

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

  • 90% Refund of fees paid by December 16th
  • 75% Refund of fees paid by December 30th
  • 50% Refund of fees paid by January 6th

75% of fees paid will be refunded if there is a documented medical emergency.

Sleeping bag, pillow, fitted sheet, toiletries, layers and warm clothes (in case of weather), and good walking shoes. A more detailed packing list will be provided in the pre-event email, and online as soon as possible.
